Elaine Bilstad was an American actress. She is known to voice Cholena in An American Tail: The Treasure of Manhattan Island. She was an ethnic Native American as well, making her a good choice for the role.
During her lifetime, she was given limited roles as one-time characters in shows, like Walker, Texas Ranger and Baywatch, as well as doing special roles in What Price Victory in 1988 and The Broken Chain in 1993. She played the indigenous version of Snow White in Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child.
Sadly, after voicing Cholena, she was going through severe health issues. She then died the next year in 1999 from a heart problem. Thus, The Treasure of Manhattan Island serves as Bilstad's final film appearance.
